" Yes, thank you very much Sebastien." Alex smiled as she accepted the wine glass that he was holding up for her.
" Please take a seat." He smiled at her as he held his hand out towards the chair beside him. Alex gave a gentle smile back as she did what he requested.
She took a sip of her wine, she was still feeling un easy at the fact of sleeping at Sebastien's place, and the fact that he wanted to be friends with her. Of course, she knew that she still loved him deep down, but he just wanted to be friends, and she was going to have to accept that.
Sebastien looked in her eyes as he watched her take a sip of her wine, she still had the same eyes as he could remember. Although this time, her eyes looked like they have been hurt again; almost like how they looked before they went on their first date. Her eyes were speaking to him again, and his heart was starting to ache for her.
" So how have you been?" Sebastien asked gently, almost into a whisper.
" I've been okay, thank you." She shifted her eyes towards her glass. She knew she was lying.
Since the last time her and Sebastien saw eachother she was never the same, and she knew it. She would be crying herself once awhile at night, wondering why all of this had to happen to her, and why she just couldn't be with a man that could make her happy. Alex knew that if she couldn't have Sebastien or Brian, then it was obvious that God didn't want her to have a man ever.
" It's been a while." Sebastien replied, trying to break the uncomfortable silence.
" Yes, it certianly has." She half smiled as she continued to look down at her drinking glass.
" Look Alex, if you don't want to stay here I understand." Sebastien replied gently, placing his hand ontop of hers.
Alex looked across at him, shocked at the fact of his hand on hers.
" No, Sebastien it's fine." She looked in his green eyes again. " I don't mind staying here, as long as it's okay with you."
" That's why I offered, cherie." He smiled at her, hoping to recieve a smile back.
Sebastien could feel Alex's hand tense up from underneith his. She was having a strange reaction to him, one that he was unfamiliar with. It was obvious that she wasn't ready to be around him, at least not yet. He took his eyes from his hand to her face. She still had the same emotion on her as when he found her before they dated. It was obvious that she had been hurting, and maybe even still. He wondered if it was because of him? Then realized that was stupid, and of course it was him, who else could it be? He then took his gaze from her eyes to her lips, they were still the same. His lips ached to touch hers, they were calling him again. He was fighting the urge to kiss her, but found that his body was leaning closer and closer to her, until he was only a few inches from her.
Alex looked at him as she could see Sebastien was staring at her. What was he thinking? His hand still warm, and still upon hers. It felt so right to have his hand on hers, it felt so good. But she couldn't think that way, he broke her heart, he didn't want her again, he just wanted to be friends. Her body responded to Sebastien and shook slightly as she saw him leaning closer and closer to her. Her eyes dropped to his lips that were only a inches away from hers, she could swear she was going to place hers on his if he didn't move soon. Her body ached for him again, if only he would take her back, she still loved him and she still wanted him. She half closed her eyes as she could see Sebastien's lips coming closer to hers, he was truly going to make a move and win her again.
A ringing was then heard in the room. Both of them paused wondering who the hell was calling. Sebastien leaned back in his kitchen stool letting Alex answer her mobile, letting out a big sigh of breath. Alex released the breath she was holding as she pulled her phone from her pocket.
" I'm sorry, Sebastien." She replied as she stood up. " Is it okay if I answer this?" She asked as she pointed towards her ringing phone.
" Go ahead, it's your phone." He forced a smile as he watched her walk into the bedroom and closing the door behind her.
He exhaled deeply once more and placed his arms behind his head after Alex had shut the bedroom door. She sure was hypnotizing, he truly wanted her back. Why else would he ask help from his fellow divos to try to win her back? He knew that he shouldn't have leaned in for a kiss but he couldn't control himself, or his body. His body was aching for her more and more. He took his last sip of wine, and placed the glass back on the counter. He looked down the hallway and onto the bedroom door, it was then he knew. That he still loved her.
" Hello?" Alex flipped her phone open, walking towards the bedroom. She could feel a pair of eyes burning into her, but she needed to answer the phone, she couldn't ignore it.
" Is this Alexandria Buhler?" A females voice asked through the phone.Alex had recognized the voice, but she still couldn't tell of who it was. She slowly lowered herself onto the edge of the bed with her eyebrows furrowed.
" Uh, yes. May I ask who this is?"
" Hi Alex, this is Ingrid from the BMG Office."" Oh, hi Ingrid." Alex replied, sounding a little shocked of Ingrid calling her. " How are you?"
" I'm good thank you." Ingrid replied, smiling was evident in her voice. " Listen, me and Carla were going out to dinner and I was wondering if you would like to come with us. Maybe so we can get to know eachother a little more."" Oh, uh ... I guess I could." Alex replied, a little unhappy about the news. She didn't feel like going out with anybody she didn't know, and getting to know new people.
" Great! So what time would be good for you?" Ingrid asked, sounding a little excited in the news of Alex joining them." Oh, uh ... anytime would be fine, I'm realy not doing anything today." Alex replied, she could tell she wasn't looking forward to this dinner thing, but she had to act kind, and nice.
" Okay, how about six? At the Labrinth on 5th Maple Drive? Would that be okay?" She asked." That's sounds great." Alex forced a smile on her face.
" Great! Well, I can't wait to see you there!' Ingrid replied." Yeah, it sounds .... great." Alex paused.
" Okay see you later, bye." Ingrid replied, smiling was still evident in her voice.Alex said her goodbye and flipped her phone shut. She looked at the little alarm clock that was sitting on top of the television, 2 hours unitll she would be at dinner. Alex layed back in the bed, laying out a big heavy sigh as she looked up at the celing. She realy didn't want to go to dinner, she wasn't in the mood. Which was odd for her, she was usually the type of person who loved getting to know someone, and chatting, but just not today, not now.
She continued to look up at the ceiling, studying the details of it as she thought about what was going to happen tonight ... then it occured to her: this would be the perfect time to apologize to Carla and Ingrid for her behavior. Alex knew from what Cyd said to her earlier, that she would have to apologize, but she never knew when, until now.
Alex slowly rose herself from the bed, she let out another sigh from her lips, making her cheeks plump out. She looked around the room, seeing as it was Sebastien's she noticed how neat it was. She sat there in silence, she couldn't help but thank back to that night when Sebastien had heart her terribly... how she wished that it never had happened, cause ever since then she was alone. Alex looked around the empty room, the room proving to her that she was alone, not even the birds outside her window could prove her wrong, it was just dead silence all around.
She could feel tears start to prick into her eyes as images of her crying in the rain came to play in her head, how she felt so useless and stupid. She then remembered the day when Sebastien came to her apartment, the way he touched her, the way he felt against her, it all just felt so right. She placed her fingers on the side of her neck as she recalled the day that he placed those very lips of hers on her neck, on the very same spot of where her fingers were.
Alex stood up and wiped the tears away from her eyes, she felt so dumb, crying over a man like this. All of this was so long ago, why was it still having it's affect on her? She ran her hands through her shirt as she grabbed her phone from the bed and turned the knob to the door. She sighed as she stepped out of the apartment, still not believing that she was in Sebastien's.
" Sorry Sebastien, that was very rude ... I should have turned my phone off." She replied as she entered in the kitchen once more, seeing he was still in the same spot as she left him.
" That's okay, Alex ... you didn't know anyone would call you." He gave her a reasurring smile.
" Listen ... I have to be at dinner with a couple of friends around six, so I won't be here." Alex replied uneasily as she rubbed her hand at the back of her neck. " Is that okay?"
" Of course, you will just have to think of it as your place as well." He smiled at her with warm eyes, as he stood up and placed the glasses in the sink.
" Well, you know that's not true." Alex laughed nervously, surprised at his comment. " It's your place, not mine."
" How about our place?" Sebastien turned to look at her from the sink. " Can we call it our place?"
Alex didn't say anything as she shifted her eyes towards the white, tyled kitchen floor. She was not sure of how to respond to Sebastien's comment, and worst of all, she wasn't sure how to react around him. He acts as if nothing happened, and they had been friends for a long time. It seemed like he wasn't even broken hearted by anything that has happened.
" Alex, can I ask you a question?"
Alex looked up to see Sebastien standing right over her, she must have been so lost in her own thoughts, that she didn't see him approach her.
" Uh ... sure." She paused, she still didn't know how to react around this man.
" Why are you so nervouse around me?" He asked softly, lowering his head a little closer to hers.
" It's been a long time, Sebastien." She replied shifting her feet as she took his glance from him to the floor again.
Sebastien paused as he looked at her, she was right it has been a while... what was he doing? He was acting like everything was okay, when it clearly wasn't, not for her at least.
" Yes, you're right ... it has been a long time." He replied sadly as he took a step back, giving her space after realizing of what he was doing. " I'm sorry."
" Thank you, Sebastien." She gave a half gentle smile as her eyes reached his.
The two of them locked eyes as they just stood there. Sebastien felt like holding her right then and there. Her eyes were still the same, he wanted to fix it, and make it all better. He knew that she was hurt by him, and he wanted to show her it was all a mistake, and then ... maybe she would take him back.
