Chapter 105: The trial

On Monday morning, the trial started. Bridget nervously squeezed Urs’ hand, while they walked down the courthouse’s hallway. They had gone in at the back, to avoid the press.
She couldn’t believe her eyes when all the guys, Sophia, Ulva, Simon, Steve and Indre came over to greet her.
“You’re all here…”
David gave her a hug. “Of course we are. You really think we’ll let you do this on your own? We’re family, Bridget.”
Carlos nodded. “Si. Let’s show that guy that if he messes with one of us, he messes with all of us.”

They were allowed to go in, and took their place on the first two rows. The first three hours were spent at putting the jury together and then it was already time for lunch.
When they got back in the afternoon, the jury, judges and lawyers took their place. Bridget gasped when Mike was brought in. Urs reassuringly put his arm around her waist while Simon squeezed her hand. Seb saw her trembling and put a hand on her shoulder.

The chairman read the accusations and all the time Mike kept starring at Bridget, a smile on his face.
“Such a creep.” Ulva whispered.
Carlos nodded. “Si. I hope they put him away for a long time!”

The chairman called it a day and when they took Mike out, he turned around and yelled “I love you, Bridget.”
She burried herself in Urs’ arms.
“It’s ok, Liebling. It’s ok.” He stroked her back, looking furiously at the man.

“You guys want to go for a drink?” Simon asked.
“I got some work to do, so… Another time?” Ulva looked at Carlos.
“Si. It’s been a long day.” He agreed.
“And I need to get back to Lorna.” David said.
“We’re going to. Are you going to be ok, Bridget?” Seb asked worried.
She nodded. “Yeah… I’ll be fine.”
“We’ll see you tomorrow. Don’t let him get to you.” Sophia kissed her cheek.

“Why don’t we go for a walk and talk a little?” Indre suggested.
Bridget nodded. “I’d like that. I’ll see you at home, Urs.”
He was about to say something, but Indre reassuringly put a hand on his arm. “I’ll walk her home. Don’t worry.”
“Ok. Thanks.“ he nodded. He kissed Bridget. “I’ll start dinner.”

Simon and Urs watched the girls walking away.
“I hope she’ll manage tomorrow.” Simon said.
“Ja. Standing up against him is gonna be hell. All those memories…” Urs shook his head.

Indre and Bridget slowly walked home.
“Try not to look at him. Pretend he’s not there. Tell the judge your story and answer the questions.” Indre suggested.
“I’ll try. But you saw what happened today. I don’t know if I can do it.” Bridget said.
“Yes, you can. Do it for your mother. And your baby.”
“Will you be there tomorrow?” Bridget asked.
Indre nodded. “Yes, I will. And so will your friends.”

That night, Urs and Bridget didn’t get much sleep. She kept tossing and turning and no matter what Urs tried, she couldn’t seem to fall asleep.

When they finally got up, they were both nervous and tired. Tension was rising in the Bühler residence. Bridget was throwing up, Urs cut himself while shaving and burnt himself as he drank his coffee. They danced around each other, nervous, scared, angrily… until Bridget broke down in tears.

“For God’s sake…” Urs sighed and took her in his arms. “I’m sorry, Liebling… I’m nervous.”
“I’m scared. I’m scared as hell…”
“I know, Honey.” He rocked her in his arms. “I know. But you can do this. You have to. Do it for your mother.”
She blew her nose and looked at him. “Can we stop at the cemetery for a minute before we go to court?”
“Of course.” He nodded.

Bridget sat down on her knees at her mother’s grave. “Hi Mommy. I have to go to court in a minute. And I’m so scared. Please give me the strength to do this. I know I have to be strong but it’s so hard.” She sighed. “I promise you that I’ll get him convicted. I’ll do it for you. For what he did to you. I miss you, Mum. I miss you so much.”

She swallowed and suddenly the sun appeared from behind the clouds and shone on the grave. Bridget smiled. “I love you. And I know you’re with me.”
She stood up and walked into Urs’ arms. “I’m ready.”
“I love you, Liebling.” He kissed the top of her head.

Chapter 106: Testifying

Henry, Simon’s lawyer, was waiting for them when they arrived.
“How are you feeling?” he asked.
“Nervous, scared…” Bridget said.
”We practised this. You can do it. Look at me, look at the judge or the other lawyer and try to ignore Mike.” Henry said.
“Ok.” She nodded.

Nervousness could be felt in the courtroom. Even Simon tapped his foot, trying to keep in control. When Henry stood up, Bridget held her breath.
“I’d like to call to the stand Ms Bridget Mason.”
Urs gave her a hug and when she looked at the others, they all gave her a thumbs up. Bridget’s legs were trembling as she walked to take her place. Henry nodded at her.

She tried to answer the questions as good as she could. Mike’s lawyer didn’t make it easy on her, but she held on.
Urs clenched his fists. He was proud of the way she dealt with this, but he knew she was going through hell.

When it was finally over, the judge suspended the trial till after lunch. Bridget hurried back to her place.
“Well done, Liebling.” Urs whispered.
She looked at her hands that were still shacking. “I hope I don’t have to go through anything like that again.”
“Why don’t you take her home, Urs?” Simon suggested.
“No.” she shook her head. “I have to stay. I want to look him in the eyes when he gets convicted.”
The others looked at each other, smiling. She was back. The strong Bridget was back.

The next two days, policemen, co-workers and psychiatrist came to testify. And every day the guys were there to support Bridget.

On the last day of the trial, everyone was nervous. They all hoped for the best, but you never knew. After the closing arguments of the lawyers, the jury left for deliberations. Simon paced the hallway, Bridget sat with the other girls but kept looking at Urs, Urs and the guys stood around the coffee machine and quietly talked to each other.

Not even an hour later, Henry called them in. “The jury is back.”
“So quickly?” Simon looked at his watch.
Bridget took Urs’ hand and held onto it as they went back in.

The room was full with people. The press filled the last rows. No one wanted to miss the conviction.
“Did the jury reach a verdict?” the judge asked.
“Yes, we have, Your Honour.” The foreman said.
Bridget held her breath when the judge quietly read the paper he was handed.

“Mr Young, please stand up.”
Mike stood up and smiled.
The judge looked at the jury. “Go ahead.”
The foreman stood up. “On the first question… stalking of Ms Bridget Mason, we find the defendant guilty. Second question… arsonism and murder attempt… we find the defendant guilty.”
Bridget squeezed Urs’ hand.
“Third question…. Kidnapping of Ms Bridget Mason, assault and battery… We find the defendant guilty. Fourth question… The murder of Mrs Helena Mason… we find the defendant…”

Everyone held his breath. Simon held on to the bench in front of him, his knuckles white.
“…guilty.”
A sigh of relief went through the room.
Simon’s fist ram the bench. “Yes!”

After some more formalities, the judge looked at Mike. “Mr Young, I hereby sentence you to 30 years in jail. You also have a restraining order to come anywhere within 500 metres of Ms Mason or her family. Is there anything you want to say?”

He looked at Bridget and opened his mouth. She starred back at him, not blinking, not smiling, nothing… Mike shook his head and looked down at his hand.
“Very well… Take him away.” The judge ordered.

“It’s over. It’s finally over.” Bridget whispered.
Urs kissed her tenderly. “Yes, it is.”
She was hugged by all her friends.
“Thank you so much, guys, for being here.”
“You’re welcome.” Seb smiled.
“I can’t believe it is finally over.” She shook her head.
“Yeah… Sweetheart, the press is outside. I think they’ll ask you some questions.” Simon said.
She nodded. “Ok. I can handle that.”

“You guys want to come for a little celebration?” Urs suggested.
“I’m going to Lorna. The baby is due any day, so…” David shrugged.
“And I have to prepare some things for the wedding I’m organising this weekend.” Ulva said.
Seb patted Urs’ back. “We’ll do it some other time. I think all Bridget wants right now is a quiet night at home.”
“Ja. Maybe you’re right.” Urs nodded.

When the Divo family came out, the press ran to them. Questions were fired at them, until Simon raised his hand.
“As Bridget’s father, I can tell you that both she and I are extremely happy that justice took place. I want to thank all of you for being so respectful these last few days. And a thank you to all our friends who came by to support us.”

Simon drove Bridget and Urs home. He gave her a hug before leaving. “Get some rest now, Sweetheart. And let Urs pamper you a little. It’s been a hell of a week.”
“I will. Thanks, Dad for being there and…” she shrugged.
“Don’t mention it. I’m so glad that creep is finally out of our lives!”

Urs and Bridget immediately went to bed. Both of them were exhausted. They had hardly slept all week.
“I couldn’t have done this without you.” She said, as she lay in his arms.
“Yes, you could. I’m proud of you, Liebling. You’re such a strong woman and the way you looked at him when he was convicted…” he kissed her forehead. “I hope our children will be just as brave.”

It was like the baby knew Urs was talking about him, cause he kicked softly. Urs’ large hand stroked Bridget’s belly. “Just a few more months, little one.”
Bridget kissed him. “I love you, Urs.”
“I love you too, Liebling.” He quickly brought her to heaven and they fell asleep closely together.

Chapter 107: Little Miller

When David got home on Friday, he saw Lorna’s suitcase in the hallway.
“Babe?” he hurried to the living room.
She sat on the couch, softly stroking her belly. “It’s time.”
“Oh God… How long? Why didn’t you call me?”
“We still got time. Don’t worry.” She stood up and slowly walked to the door. “Are you ready?”
“Yeah… Oh no, my camera!”
Lorna rolled her eyes as he ran to get his precious camera.

She was leaning heavily on the table in the hallway, breathing through a contraction when he returned.
“You ok?” he rubbed her back.
“Yes. Let’s go now.” She nodded.

By the time they got to the hospital, Lorna’s contractions were coming faster and David was getting more nervous by the minute.
They brought her to the ward and checked her out.
“It’s looking good, Mrs Miller.”
David softly hummed a tone, while preparing his camera. “You don’t mind?” he asked the doctor.
“Of course not.” He smiled.

A few hours later, David wasn’t so calm anymore.
“How could you do this to me?” Lorna yelled. “You’re never coming anywhere near me again! This is all your fault!”
“But babe…” David stammered.
“Don’t you ‘babe’ me! Get this baby out of me!” she screamed as another contraction hit her.
“Ok, Lorna… It’s time to push.” The doctor smiled.

“My camera!” David looked around.
“I’m warning you, Miller… If you dare to leave my side, that camera will end up somewhere very dark and you’ll need a surgeon to remove it!” Lorna glanced at him.
David paled and two of the nurses had to turn around, to hide their smile.

“Push, Lorna!”
David held her hand and was mesmerized when he saw the little head appear. “Oh my God…”
“One more time… Good girl…”
Just when the sun came up, the crying of a baby filled the room and Lorna sank back in the pillows.

“David, you want to cut the cord?” the doctor asked.
He nodded and his hands trembled when he did so.
One of the nurses wrapped the child in a blanket and handed it to him. “Here you are… Your daughter.”

He sat down on the bed, his eyes tearful. “She’s so beautiful.”
Very carefully he handed her to Lorna.
“Our little Lexie…” she looked at her husband. “Are you happy?”
“Very happy.” He kissed her forehead.

Lorna stroked her daughters’ cheek and she yawned. “Are you tired, sweetie? So is Mummy.”
A nurse appeared at her side. “I’m gonna clean her up a little and then we’ll try feeding her, if that is ok?”
“Yes.” Lorna nodded. She looked at David. “Go on… I know you’re dying to call everyone.”
He nodded and kissed her. “I’ll be right back.”

Chapter 108: Family Visit

Urs woke up from the soft beep of his mobile. Bridget was in his arms and didn’t even stir. He reached for his mobile and smiled when he read the message.
“Our daughter is born. Come and see us when B. feels up to it. David.”

That David… Always the crazy one, but deep down a concerned friend.
“What is it?” Bridget mumbled.
Urs stroked her bare shoulder. “David. Their daughter is born.”
“That’s great.” She sighed and buried her nose in his neck. “We should go over there.”
“Later, Liebling. He said to come by when you felt like it. Sleep some more. It’s still early.” Urs said and wrapped his arms around her.

In the afternoon, Bridget and Urs made their way over to the hospital. They heard laughter coming from one of the rooms and knew the others were there as well.
“Hi guys!” Urs greeted them.
“Hey! Just in time for champagne!” David laughed.

“Hi Lorna. How are you?” Bridget kissed her cheek.
“I’m fine.” She smiled.
“Congratulations.” Urs hugged David.
“Thanks, Buddy. Isn’t she the cutest?”
Bridget looked at the little girl who was safely in her mothers’ arms and touched her hand. “Hi there.”
“You want to hold her?” Lorna asked.
“Yes, please!”
“What’s her name?” Urs asked and joined Bridget.
“Alexie May. Lexie for short.” David beamed.

“No play station for her, David.” Carlos teased.
“We’ll see about that. I think girls can be just as good as boys.” He grinned.
“She’ll be playing with dolls, Miller!” Lorna glared at him.
“But Babe…”
“You can teach Christian.” Sophia winked.
David crouched in front of the travel cot. “Did you hear that? Your uncle David is gonna make sure you’ll be a Play Station ace! That calls for a high five!” he put his hand up and took Christian’s little hand to slap his. “That’s my boy!”
Seb shook his head. “Now you’ve started something!”

“Are you two going back to Switzerland?” Ulva asked Urs.
He nodded. “Yes, we leave on Monday. I want to get the nursery done and make sure everything is arranged for the birth.”
“It’s gonna be a close call.” Lorna looked at Bridget who smiled sadly.
“I’m lucky to have his mother and sisters close, but…”
Urs put an arm around his shoulder. “One word and I’ll be home. You know that.”
“The plane will be ready day and night.” Sophia said. “Don’t you worry about a thing.”

There was a knock on the door and David’s father peeked in.
“Dad!”
“I brought some visitors if that’s ok?” Peter asked.
“Of course it is.” David nodded.

When Lorna’s family came in she gasped.
“We’ll leave you two it.” Urs said.
Bridget handed Lexie back to Lorna. “Stay calm.” She whispered.
Everyone left and Seb softly closed the door. “I hope that goes well.”

David sat down on the bed and put his arm around Lorna’s shoulder. She held on to her daughter and nervously bit her lip.

Peter cleared his throat. “The minute you called us to tell us Lorna was in labour, I went over to the Carter family. We had a long talk and…” he looked at Lorna’s father.
“And we decided it’s about time we stop this stupid feud.” John nodded. “Lorna, David… The land that is on the borders of our grounds, belongs to Alexia. You two are the owners until she turns 18.”
Peter smiled. “The Millers and Carters are a family from now on.”

Tears ran down Lorna’s face when she looked at her mother. “Mum?”
“I’m sorry, honey. I shouldn’t… We shouldn’t have been so hard.” Sonia said softly.
David stood up and shook John’s hand. “It means a lot. Thank you, Mr Carter.”
“Call me John, please.” He said.

“Can I hold my granddaughter?” Sonia asked.
Lorna nodded and handed her daughter to her mother.
Barbra came closer and both grandmothers admired the little girl.

Lorna looked at her brothers. “What about you two?”
“We are sorry as well. You are a nice guy, David.” Jamie said.
Daniel nodded. “I agree. And you’ll be a good father to our little niece.”
“I think I speak in name of us both of us when I say ‘Thank you’.” David smiled.
“Yeah…” Lorna looked at her husband. “Finally our family is a real family again.”

Chapter 109: Something special

Seb checked the living room one last time. Curtains were closed, candles lit, the pictures were in place, a blanket on the floor…Perfect!
Now all he had to do was wait for Sophia to return from her doctor’s appointment. He went to check on Christian and found the little boy fast asleep.
“I hope Mommy will like her surprise.” He whispered.

Sophia gasped when she opened the living room door. All the furniture was gone, except for a blanket amid rose petals. Flowers and candles were all over the room.
She smiled when she found Seb’s note.
“Make yourself comfortable, Chérie. I’ll be right with you.”

Nerves fluttered through her as she sat down. But then she stood up again and paced the room. And that’s when she found the pictures. There was the one of her and Seb on the boardwalk, one of the place they met. There was a pic of her all by herself on the beach and one of Seb, crying, all alone on the beach… The picture David took in the Royal Park in Brussels when they where in Belgium and her favourite… One of them together with Seb hugging her and her bump.

Tears ran down her cheeks by the time Seb came in. He smiled and put a plate down on the floor.
"Seb, what is this?" Sophia asked as she gestured to the changed room and Seb smiled softly.
"I thought you deserved something special, my love." he smiled and removed the silver top and revealed boxes of chocolate filled with strawberries, white chocolate pieces, peanut butter cups, jelly babies and other little treats.

He softly pulled her down on the blanket.
The biggest of the chocolate boxes was still closed and Sophie looked at it as Seb fed her a chocolate covered strawberry.
"This is too much Seb. Where's Christian?" she asked as she licked her lips savouring the rich taste of chocolate and sweet strawberries.
"He's asleep. Don't worry." Seb fed her another strawberry and Sophie had to bite her lip to stop the moaning, but Seb saw it and leaned forward and kissed her passionately.

"You taste so good." He whispered as he licked her lips slowly and pulled back. Sophie had her eyes closed and clutched the blanket and whimpered as he left her.
"Don't." she moaned when she opened her eyes. "Please."
It was a plea and Seb couldn't deny either of them as he leaned forward and kissed her deeply, tasting her, taking advantage of her as she gave herself willingly to him.

He pulled back again and shook his head.
"Darling." he began and Sophie stopped him leaning forward to unbutton the buttons of his shirt, a gleam in her eyes.
"What are you doing?" Sebs asked as he finally held both her hands safely in his right hand.
"I'm seducing you, Mr. Izambard, what does it look like?" Sophie teased and pouted prettily so that Seb had to close his eyes to regain control.
"Sophie, please." Seb finally said and Sophie only held a finger to his lips. "Seb darling, the doctor gave his okay. You don't have to hold back."

Seb used the moment to gather his strength. "Sophie, before we go down that road, I need you to know something very important."
Sophie stopped and looked up at him, her eyes shinning as he held her close to him, and he began to hum.

“I sing about romance and love for a living. Everyday I tell people to believe in fairy tales and happy endings and I never thought I'd find that for myself one day. Then I met you. It was rotten timing for sure, but when I saw you, I swear I heard music swell and I could hear myself singing ‘Every Time I Look At You’. The music was there and when we kissed… Sophie, that moment was filled with fireworks and music, love and laughter… It was more than I could have dreamed of. To lose you like I did was awful. I fell into depression and the only thing that kept me going was the thought of seeing you one day. Now that I have you in my arms I can feel the music, I can live the music I sing about everyday. The only thing that can make me fly higher than I've ever been is your eternal love, ma petite. Please say you'll never take that away, that we can spend a lifetime together proving our love, making each other dream and fly."

Sophia looked up into his green eyes shinning with tears and she wiped one away with her finger. "Haces realidad la magia de sonar, volare si tu me amas. Seb, those words have always been my favourite. To live them with you, to feel them with you, to share them with you forever. That's the most beautiful thing in the world."

She felt the laugher bubble up as he placed the ring on her finger and Sophie hugged his hand close to her breast, her eyes going dark with the passion she felt rising in her blood. "Please Seb, make me yours."
"My pleasure." he whispered as he kissed her along her jawline dropping light kisses all over her as he moved from one sweet spot to another. It was the best feeling in the world to have her in his arms, to know that she was his forever.

A bit later, Seb grinned. “Did you ever say yes?”
Sophia laughed out loud. "Yes, Sebastien Izambard, I'll marry you and put you out of your misery. Now come here.” She crocked her finger and Seb crawled over to her and kissed her finger and worked his way down her arm to her breast and then to her stomach til they were lost once again…

Chapter 110: Love

“How about a snack?” Seb suggested.
“Yeah… That would be great. To get some energy.” Sophia giggled.

Seb was digging in the fridge for something to make a sandwich when Sophia came in after him. He was humming a song when she jumped on top of the table.
"What were you humming?" Sophie asked as Seb continued to rummage in the fridge. He turned around to see her sitting on top of the table in the kitchen. She was only wearing the pearls on her throat and his diamond ring on her finger. Her mass of curly hair was rummaged and he remembered running his fingers through it earlier.

"Nothing. It's a melody I'm toying with. Why?" he asked as he pulled out the cheese and cold turkey and let her oogle him since the only thing he'd slipped on was his boots. The floor was cold and he hated walking around completely barefoot.

"I love to hear you sing. I think that was something that caught me off guard. When I saw you in concert singing with so much passion and love, I wanted it to be only for me, but it wasn't." Sophie shrugged and watched as Seb handed her half of his sandwhich.

She took a bite as Seb chewed and swallowed. "I've never serenaded you have I? Not really. There was the concert in New York, but you deserve a private session." Seb grinned and moved so that he was right in front of her, her legs were on either side of his hips.

For a moment he stared into her eyes, letting himself drown in her love and then he began slowly, letting the song come to him, letting it fill him knowing he wouldn't forget a line, even if he didn't normally sing that particularly lyric.
Sophia leaned forward so that her head was on his chest, breathing in the scent of him, letting his voice run through her and taking her with it. He was singing her favourite song and he knew it. She shivered and felt him wrap his arms around her.

She looked up into his green eyes, large as pools of dark emeralds as he was about to finish the song. He was looking right at her as he sang, "Haces realidad la magia de sonar, volare si tu me amas."
What he hadn't expected was Sophies voice to join his, and she smiled shyly, "Your love makes me fly Seb. Only you can make me fly. Make me fly. Please." she begged and he knew that he couldn't deny her anything, especially that.

His grin was boardering on the naughty as he bent forward to kiss her passionately. There was nothing he would hold back from her, and he knew she was holding nothing back from him either.
The kiss seemed to go on and on, and he felt his heart burst from joy and love as she opened up to him, letting him touch her and love her as never before. She took control of the pace, making his heart race as she pushed forward.

Begging for more without more, only with her sighs, her touch, her love. They flew together, as they had sang and afterwords she lay back on the kitchen table, watching him catch his breath and smiling fully satisfied male smile. "Happy are you?" she asked reaching up to stroke his face. He was leaning over her and his smile only got bigger.
"Yes. You?" he asked as he kissed her hand and watched as she nodded her head.
"Yes. Very." she sighed and closed her eyes. The tiny cries from down the hall had her eyes flying open.

"Our prince demands to be feed." Sophie smiled and made a move to get up only to be pinned to the table by Seb.
"Let me, ma petite. You settle yourself on the couch. I'll get your robe and Christian." he whispered as he brushed a kiss on her forehead and left to get Christian. Sophie stayed on the table for only a second, grateful for the man she would be marrying. He was being so good to her and his love for her and for Christian made her own love grow in leaps in bounds. She moved slowly to the sofa so that Seb was waiting with her robe as she slipped into it and took the crying baby. In that moment everything was what it should be. It was finally right, her life was finally complete.

Chapter 111: Goodbye is the saddest word.

The guys’ break was over in no time. Before they realised it, it was the day after Valentines’ Day and everyone was packing.

“2 months…” Carlos sighed. “2 whole months…”
Ulva sat on the bed and watched him. “I know. You think I like it?”
“No. And neither does Lorna or Bridget. Or Urs!” he shook his head. “If something happens to Bridget or he misses the birth of his child… Simon is a dead man!”
“Yeah… You better be here when it’s my turn!” she winked.
“I will, Querida. The first thing my son will see, is his father.” Carlos closed his suitcase. “All done.”
“Good boy.”

“Boy? You call me a boy?” he pretented to be hurt.
“Want to prove me otherwise?” Ulva giggled.
“It would be my pleasure.” Carlos unbuttoned his shirt and pushed her down on the bed. “Te quiero.”

“I’m gonna miss you so much.” David walked around with Lexie in his arms. “You are going to be such a big girl when I get back.”
Lorna stood in the doorway and smiled. She was gonna miss him so much.
“But you will be a good girl to your Mommy, won’t you? And I bought her a webcam so I can see you.” David put her in her crib and tucked her in. “Good Night, sweetie.”

“Are you gonna tuck me in as well?” Lorna asked.
“Yes. And I’m gonna hold you in my arms all night long.” He smiled.
“I can’t believe you’re going away for so long.”
David sighed. “I know, Babe. Me neither. But I’ll call you every day. And we’ll talk over IM. And you’ll have to send me pics.”
“I will.” She took his hand. “Let’s go to bed.”

“I’m glad you’re coming with me for a while.” Seb said as he put their luggage in the hall.
Sophia nodded. “I just hope Christian won’t be too much trouble.”
“Mais non. And the guys love him and will spoil him.”
“Just like his Daddy.” She smiled.
“Oui.” He kissed her forehead. “You know, I’m proud of you. Offering to stay with Bridget the last month of her pregnancy.”
“It’s bad enough Urs is away. And yes, his mother and sisters will take care of her, but it’s still strange not having your husband with you.” Sophia shrugged.
“That’s true. Shall we go to bed now, Chérie?”
“I would love to.” She winked.

“Did you arrange a taxi?” Bridget asked as Urs locked up the front door.
“Alex is picking me up.” He took her hand and dimmed the lights as they went upstairs.
“Ok.”
“You don’t have to get up in the morning. You need your rest.” He smiled.
Bridget sighed. “I want to get up. I need to say goodbye.”
“Liebling…”
“I’m gonna miss you.” She whispered.
Urs closed their bedroom door and pulled her in his arms. “Me too, Liebling. But remember… One phonecall and I’ll be back.”
“I know.” She nodded. “I’m glad Sophia is gonna be here next month.”
“Me too!” he stroked her belly. “I wish I could stay.”
Bridget put her arms around his neck. “I can’t even hug you properly.”

Urs smiled and picked her up. He sat down on the bed with her in his lap. “How’s that?”
“Great.” She traced his face with her fingers. “What am I gonna do without you?”
“I’ll be back.” He gently kissed her and looked at her moisty eyes. “No tears, Liebling. Please…”
“I’m sorry.” Bridget said, burrying her head against his neck. “It’s just that I’m gonna miss you so much and…”
“I know, sweetie.” Urs gently lay her down on the bed and undressed her. “Let me love you, Bridget. Give me a memory for the next two months.”
Bridget was only too willing to give in to his request and they loved each other all through the night.

It was still early when Urs put on his jacket and Alex picked up his suitcases to put them in the car. Urs hugged Bridget tight. “Take care of yourself, Liebling. And call my mother or my sisters or Alex if you need anything.”
“I will.” She looked up at him and saw the love in his eyes. “I love you, Urs Bühler.”
“Ich liebe dich auch.” He kissed her with all the love and passion he had in him and reluctantly let go of her. He hurried to the car and waved at her before he got in.

Bridget watched the car driving away and put her hands on her belly. “There goes your Daddy. It’s just you and me now.”

Chapter 112: Surprises

The Asian Tour was a success. Everywhere the guys came, fans waited for them. Concerts were sold out, papers and tv shows wanted them… They were hot and wanted.

Steve had hired a new Friday girl, Nadia. A 21 year old British girl, who just got out of college and wanted to “do something in showbiz”.
She was very shy and giggly in the beginning and the guys didn’t make it any easier on her. Especially Carlos loved to flirt with her and laughed when she blushed.

But after a few weeks, things were getting better and she became a value to all of them. Everyone noticed how she eyed up Urs, and he realised she had a crush on him. It began with small gestures. His favourite dessert or drink in his dressing room, a bike magazine in his luggage, the address of a guitar shop…
Urs didn’t want to encourage her, so he politely thanked her every time.

Sophia hadn’t been feeling well for a few days. She blamed it on the travelling and jetlag.
Seb danced around her like mother hen. “Can I get you anything? Why don’t you go and lay down for a minute? Let me call a doctor.”
“I’m fine, Seb. Honestly. It might just be a virus or a flu. My allergies can be acting up again. I'm okay though. Go and do your sound check.” She smiled at him practically shoving him out the door.

When he'd gone Sophia sat down on the bed and waited for the room to stop spinning before going to Christian's cot and changing him.
"Well little fellow, I think Mummy knows what's wrong. Why don't we take a little trip?" She cooed and smiled as he gurgled in baby speak to her.

When Seb came back from soundcheck the room was quiet. He could hear the TV and when he went into the room, he found Sophia asleep with Christian in his cot next to the bed. He turned off the TV and kissed her forehead gently. She didn't stir and he thought about how she had been scaring him lately with the dizzy spells and tiredness. He thought of Ana and how she'd been sick like that before the diagnosis.

The idea that something could be wrong with her, seriously wrong with her, had Seb's stomach chruning. He raced to the bathroom as the churning gave way to the need to throw up his lunch. After heaving the contents of his stomach into the toilet, Seb was rinsing his mouth when a box in the trash can caught his attention.

He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and tried to make out the upside down letters. Giving up he took a tissue paper and used that to grab the box out of the trash and he placed it on the counter of the restroom and nearly fainted when he saw what it was.

For a moment he debated searching in the trash can for the test, but then he thought that Sophia might have it with her or somewhere safe and decided that he could wait until she woke up. He tossed the box back in the trash can and joined Sophia in the large bed. He snuggled up next to her and waited for her to wake up. It didn't take long for Sophia to wake up as Seb's stroking her back and her feeling so decidant and spoiled.

"Seb!" she cried out surprised and he smiled as she sat up and turned to face him. The look of joy at seeing him filled with anxiety
"What's wrong, ma Cherie?" he asked taking her chin with this fingers as she tried to turn away.
"Oh Seb, nothing. Christian's been a bit colicky. I think he's caught whatever it is I have." she shrugged and tried to find a way to tell him about her suspisions. Finding the words caught in her throat as she looked into his green eyes.
"I doubt he's caught what you have." Seb said in a grave voice that had the hairs in the back of Sophia's neck standing.
"Oh really?" she asked raising her eyebrow as he nodded.

"Sophie, I saw the box in the restroom." Seb said softly as she bit her lip and tried hard not to cry. She was just so emotional at the moment that she couldn't stop the tears.
"I... I didn't think it could happen so soon... and then you on tour... and... and..." Sophia had a hard time speaking in between the gulps of air and the sobs. "I'm... sorrry." she wailed and Seb hugged her close to him loving the feel of her in his arms, not minding that his favourite shirt was being soaked through.
"Oh honey, don't worry, sweetie. I love children and a baby with you would be the best engagement gift you could give me or that I could give you." Seb whispered tenderly as Sophia began to calm down.
"You wouldn't mind if I was pregnant so soon? Christian and this baby would be less than a year apart Seb." Sophia said into his chest and Seb nodded, pleased with the turn of events.
“That's okay. It happens to very normal and healthy and active families all the time, Sophie." Seb held the laughter form his voice as he stroked her back.

"I'm not sure quiet yet, Seb. I took the test but I haven't looked." Sophia admitted and Seb held out his hand as he climbed off the bed.
"Let's see together." he suggested and Sophia nodded as she took his hand and lead him to the bathroom and opened the cabinet under the sink.
"I didn't want to know, but I had to take the test and..." she shrugged as she handed him the stick without seeing the result.
"How will I know if you are or you're not?" Seb asked as he took little wand from her hand. The power it held amazed him as he covered the display and looked at Sophie.
"It's an easy read digital test, Seb. It'll say ‘Pregnant’ if I am or ‘Not Pregnant’ if I'm not." She held her breath as he opened his hand and looked down.

The slow smile that spread across his face had her blood warming, the whoop of joy he let out had her laughing as he picked her up and carefully carried her over to the bed. "I better carry you while I still can. I won't be able to for much longer." Seb joked and Sophia playfully punched his arm.
"Watch it Izambard. I'm carrying your baby now." She laughed and loved how it felt to say those words. "I'm carrying your baby!" she repeated over and over until other sensations flooded her brain taking over.

After the concert in Osaka, Urs hurried to his dressing room. He wanted to go to the hotel and call Bridget. He took off his clothes and when he was in his boxers, he felt two arms around him.
“What the..?” he turned around and there was Nadia. A very naked Nadia.
“Come on. I know you want it. How long has it been? Your wife is far away and pregnant and…” she pushed her body against his.
Urs angrily took her upperarms and held her away from him. “Get dressed and get the hell out of here!”

“Urs, are you…” Sophia came in and gasped when she saw the scene in front of her. She looked at Urs, confusion and anger written all over her face.
“Sophia, I want her fired. Give her the money she is entitled to and put her on the next plane home.” He said, his voice deadly calm.
Sophia nodded. She immediately knew this was serious. “Ok.”
“No, please… I love you, Urs!” Nadia pleaded.

Urs took her bathrobe that lay on the floor and threw it towards her. “Out! Now!”
“Let’s go.” Sophia said, holding the door open.
When the two women had left, Urs sank down in the couch. “Gott…”

5 minutes later, Sophia was back with Seb.
“You ok?” he asked, as he sat down next to his friend.
Urs hadn’t moved yet. He just nodded. “Yes.”
“Steve is taking her to the airport.” Sophia said.
“Thanks.” Urs looked at her. “We can’t tell Bridget. I don’t want to upset her.”
“Urs, I know you want to protect her, but I don’t think it’s a good idea. What if this gets out? She needs to hear it from you.” Sophia said.
“But she’s all alone. What if she doesn’t believe me? And I don’t want her to worry.” He sighed.
“Look, you know I’m going over there tomorrow. You can tell her when I get there. She isn’t alone then and she’ll have my side of the story.” Sophia said.
Urs bit his lip. “Yeah… I guess you’re right. Thanks, Sophia.”

Chapter 113: Faith

Seb beamed when he and Sophia came to breakfast the next morning. He put Christian’s cot next to him, held Sophia’s chair and gently squeezed her shoulder when she sat down.
“You comfortable?” he asked.
She nodded. “I am.”

The others looked at each other.
“Are we in a romantic mood today, Izambard?” David teased.
“I always am. But today a bit more then usual.” He smiled at Sophia. “Sophia had a surprise for me.”
“Oh?” Carlos asked. “A new bag of jelly babies?”
Seb shook his head. “Close… But non. I’m going to be…”

They all looked at him, waiting.
“You’re going to be…?” David asked.
“A Daddy.” Seb smiled widely.
“Way to go!” David patted his back. “You didn’t waist any time, did you?”
“Non.” Seb grinned.

“Congratulations, Sophia.” Urs hugged her.
“Thank you.”
“You sure you want a real Izambard?” Carlos asked.
She nodded. “With all my heart.”
Seb leaned in and kissed her tenderly.

“Alright… That’s enough! Go back to your room if you want to do that!” David yelled.
“Are you going to be ok, flying to Switzerland?” Urs asked. “I understand if you don’t...”
“I’ll be fine. And I promised Bridget I would be there, so I will.” She stated. “Don’t worry. I’m a tough one!”

It was late in the afternoon when Sophia arrived at the cabin the next day. Bridget came out to greet her and both women hugged each other.
“How are you? You look great.” Sophia smiled.
“I’m fine. I miss Urs, but…” she shrugged.
“He misses you too. Believe me.” She took Christian out of the car and handed him to Bridget. “Why don’t you take him and I’ll get the luggage.”
“Ok. Did you have a nice trip, sweetie?” Bridget carried him inside, softly talking to him.

They put Christian in bed, installed Sophia in her room and after dinner, they sat in the lounge to catch up. Snowflake lay at their feet and happily chewed on a bone.
“And then the biggest news…” Sophia smiled.
“What?” Bridget looked at her.
“I’m pregnant.”
“What? Oh my God! Sophia! That’s great!” Bridget hugged her. “Seb must be thrilled.”
Sophia nodded. “Yes, he is. And so am I. Although it is soon after Christian, but…”
“Oh Hun… That doesn’t matter. You two love each other and that baby is proof of your love.” Bridget said.

She smiled when the phone rang. “That’s Urs. Hello?”
“Hallo Liebling.” Her husband’s voice made her heart flutter.
“Hi.”
Sophia smiled when she saw her friend so happy. It was obvious that those two loved each other very much.

“Is Sophia with you?” he asked.
“Yes, she is. You want to talk to her?” Bridget asked.
“No, but put the speaker on. I need to tell you something and I want her to hear this.” He said.
“You’re scaring me.” She said.
“Don’t worry. Hi Sophia.” He said.
“Hi Urs.” Sophia answered.

“You know we had a new Friday girl? Nadia?” Urs asked.
“Yes.” Bridget nodded.
He took a deep breath. “She had a little crush on me. You know what it’s like. Young girls, fans… Anyway… 2 days ago she made a move on me.”
“What do you mean with making a move?” Bridget looked at Sophia.

“She hid in my dressing room. I was changing and she came out, totally naked. She wanted…” he hesitated. “Well, Sophia came in just as it happened. I told her to fire Nadia and put her on the first plane. Liebling, I don’t want to worry you, but you had to know this. Sophia can confirm my story.”
Sophia nodded. “He’s right. Steve put Nadia on the plane.”
“What would have happened if Sophia hadn’t come in?” Bridget asked softly.
“Nothing. Liebling, I love you. You’re the only woman I want. I would never cheat on you.” Urs said determined.
“I know. I just wanted to be sure.” Bridget sighed. “Please don’t tell me this is gonna turn into another Mike situation?”
Sophia shook her head. “I’m sure it won’t. She’s harmless.”
“Thanks Sophia.” Urs said.
“You’re welcome. I’ll leave you to it. Bye!” she smiled and stood up.
“Bye Sophia.” Urs waited till Bridget told him Sophia had left.“You do believe me, right Liebling?”
“Yes, I do. I love you, Urs. I wish you were here.” She said.
“I know. Me too. But at least you’re not alone.”
“No, that’s true. Well, I’m going to bed now.” She stiffled a yawn.
Urs nodded. “Ja, you need to rest. Good night my love.”
“Night.”

Chapter 114: A long journey

Urs sighed as he sank down in his seat. “It’s about time we go home.”
“Oui. I can’t wait to see Sophia and Christian again.” Seb agreed.
David nodded. “Lexie has already grown so much.”
“And I’m going with Ulva for her next scan.” Carlos beamed.
As the guys settled for their journey home, they weren’t aware of what was happening in Switzerland.

Bridget hobbled into the kitchen where Sophia was preparing breakfast.
“Morning, hun.”
“Morning.” Bridget sighed.
“You ok?” Sophia looked at her and frowned.
“My back is killing me. I hardly slept.” She shifted uncomfortable in her chair.
“Yeah… The last days are hard to bare.” Sophia smiled.

Bridget nodded and rubbed her stomach, while she took a deep breath. “And these cramps…”
“Cramps?” Sophia raised an eyebrow. “Hun, how long are you having those?”
“A couple of hours.”
“Ok. Now don’t panick, but I think you might be in labour.” Sophia said.
Bridget shook her head. “What? No… It can’t be. Urs isn’t here yet.”
“They are on their way. Seb called me a couple of hours ago. They’ll be in London late afternoon.” Sophia sat down next to her. “Why don’t I call your doctor? He can examine you and then we’ll know for sure.”
She nodded. “Ok.”

While the doctor was there, Sophia fed Christian. She had a feeling she wouldn’t have the chance later.
Doctor Schmidt came out of Bridget’s room and smiled. “I don’t think it will happen straight away. Let’s hope her husband gets here in time, cause she told me she’s not going to hospital without him.”
“I’ll try to get in touch with them.” Sophia nodded.
“Call me when things change.” The doctor said.

Urs was asleep when the stewardess softly shook his shoulder. “Mr Bühler. I have a phonecall for you. It’s Mrs Brady.”
“Sophia?” he quickly stood up and followed the young woman who handed him a phone. “Sophia? What’s wrong?”
“Bridget is in labour. It just started and it will be a few hours, but I thought you needed to know.” She said.
“Ja. Is she in hospital?” he asked.
Sophia hesitated. “No… She said she’s not going without you.”
“Gott! Ok… I’m gonna ask the pilot if he can fly to Switzerland instead of London. Keep me informed!”
“I will!” When Sophia hung up the phone, she heard Bridget yell for her.

She ran up the stairs and saw her standing in the middle of the room.
“My water broke…” she whispered.
“Ok, Hun… Let’s get you to hospital.” Sophia said.
“No! I’m not leaving till Urs gets here.”
Sophia shook her head. “Sweetie… He might be hours. We can’t take the risk.”
“I’m… Oh God…” A contraction hit her and Sophia helped her through it, before guiding her back to bed.

“Call Lisa. She’s a midwife. Her number is by the phone.” Bridget said.
“Ok.” Sophia ran back down and did as told. When she hung up again, someone rang the doorbell. Sophia gasped when she saw the visitor. “Simon!”
“Hi Sophia. I wanted to surprise Bridget. And be here when the baby comes.” He grinned.
“Well, that might happen sooner then you think. She’s in labour.” Sophia said.
“What? And Urs…”
“Is still on his way. He asked the pilot to come here instead of flying to London. I just called his sister who’s a midwife, cause Birdget refuses to go to hospital. And the doctor…” she bit her lip.
“What?”
“He’s delivering another baby so he can’t come over. I’m sorry, Simon, but I need to get back to her.” Sophia said.
He nodded. “Is there anything I can do?”
“I don’t think so. I’ll let you know.”

Hours passed. Simon paced the living room when he wasn’t outside smoking, and Sophia and Lisa tried to help Bridget as much as they could. Soft music was playing in the background. Bridget was exhausted. She was desperately fighting the contractions and trying to hold back the urge to push, but she couldn’t.

As soon as the plane touched ground, Urs switched on his mobile and dialled his home number. “Simon? How’s Bridget?”
“She’s still in labour. Alex is waiting for you. Get here as soon as you can.” He said.
“Can I talk to her?” he ran out of the plane, followed by the others.
“Yeah, hang on.” Simon brought the phone upstairs and put it on the speaker.

“Urs! Oh Urs!” Bridget sobbed.
“I’m on my way, Liebling. Hang in there.”
“I can’t take in anymore.”
“Yes, you can. I’ll be with you very soon. And then we’ll have a beautiful baby.” He said.

They finally had their luggage and Alex waited for them at arrivals. The men ran to the car while Urs kept talking to Bridget.
“Drive as fast as you can!” Urs said to his brother. “I don’t care about regulations. I don’t care if we get a fine. Just get me home.”
“Buckle up, guys.” Alex said while he started the engine.

“I have to push.” Bridget said.
“Ok, Hun…” Sophia looked at Lisa. “You can do this.”
“I’m with you, Sweetie.” Urs said. He nervously drummed his fingers on his knees while he listened to what was happening at home.
“Urs…” Bridget sobbed after the first push.
“I’ll be right with you, Honey.” He looked at Alex. “Hurry up, please!”

Chapter 115: Home…

“Lisa?”
“Yes, Urs…” his sister answered, keeping an eye on Bridget.
“You’re on your own?”
“Yes… But Sophia is here with me. Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.” She said.

“Urs, where are you?” Bridget moaned.
“Just a few more minutes, Liebling.” He nudged Alex. “Drive faster.”
“Ok, Bridget… I need you to push again.” Lisa said.
“I’m so tired.” She shook her head.
Sophia wiped away the sweat on Bridget’s forehead. “You’re almost there, Hun. Come on, we can do this.”

In the mean time, Urs’ parents had arrived. His mother sat on the couch, nervously playing with a pillow. “I hope he makes it. He’ll never forgive himself if he misses this!”
They heard a car pull up on the driveway and as soon as Simon opened the door, Urs barged in. He ran up the stairs, taking two at a time.

“Bridget!”
“Push!!!” Lisa said.
Urs ran into the room and grabbed Bridget’s hand while he sat down next to her. “I’m here, Liebling.”
“Just in time.” Lisa smiled.

The baby’s crying filled the room and Bridget sank back in the pillows, looking at Urs. “You made it…”
He kissed her forehead. “Ja.”
“You want to cut the cord, Daddy?” Lisa asked.
He nodded and did so with his hands trembling.
Lisa handed him the baby. “Here she is. Your daughter.”

Tears ran down Urs’ cheeks when he looked at the little baby. “A girl… We have a daughter…”
He sat down on the bed and handed her to Bridget.
“She’s beautiful… And look at the hair…” she whispered.
Urs put his arm around her shoulder. “As beautiful as her mother.”

Sophia looked at the couple and smiled. She couldn’t hold back her tears when she saw the love they shared. They belonged together, there was no doubt about it.
“How are you gonna call her?” Lisa asked.
“Liesl. Liesl Helena Bühler.” Urs said.

”I’m gonna tell the others the good news.“ Sophia said.
Urs stood up and hugged her. “Thank you. Without you…”
“You’re welcome. And congratulations.” She smiled.
“Tell them to come up in a while.” Urs said.
“I’ll come and get them.” Lisa said. “I’m gonna clean up the two Bühler ladies first.”

When Sophia came down, everyone started asking questions.
“Is it there yet? Did Urs make it? Is it a boy or a girl? Are they alright?”
She smiled at them. “Yes, Urs came in just as the baby was born. Mother and daughter are fine. Very happy. All three of them.”

“A girl…” David smiled. “Nice.”
Seb took Sophia in his arms. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too. Where is Christian?” she looked around.
“In the living room. He’s still asleep.” Seb kissed her. “It’s good to be back.”

Half an hour later, they all went up to greet the newborn.
Bridget smiled at Simon. “You want to hold your grand daughter?”
“Can I?”
“Of course.” She nodded.
He carefully took the little girl in his arms. “She’s gorgeous. And I see she has her father’s hair.”
Urs grinned. “Ja.”

Liesl was passed on and they all admired her. Urs sat on the bed with his arms around Bridget. He was so relieved he made it in time.
“We better go.” Seb pointed at Bridget who had fallen asleep. “It’s been a long day.”
Urs took over his daughter and smiled. “Thanks for everything. All of you.”
“You’re welcome, Amigo. David and I are staying at your parents, but we come to say goodbye in the morning.” Carlos patted his back.
“Ok. Night!”

Urs carefully put his daughter in her crib. “Gute Nacht, Liesl. And welcome in our family.”
He undressed and got under the covers with Bridget who snuggled up to him.
“I’m glad you’re home.”
“Me too, Liebling.” He kissed her forehead. “Good night.”

Chapter 116: Love is all around

“Morning.” Bridget smiled.
“Morning, Liebling.” Urs kissed her forehead. “It’s so nice to wake up like this.”
“Yeah…” she sat up. “Liesl!”
“She’s fine. Still fast asleep. I checked on her a while ago.” Urs pulled her back down. “Just lay with me for a while. I missed you.”
“I missed you too. I haven’t heard Liesl during the night.” She said.
“No, she’s a quiet child. Are you sure you don’t want to breastfeed?” he asked.
Bridget nodded. “It would be too difficult if we go back on tour.”

They talked for a while, enjoying being together again, until Urs got out of bed. “I better get ready. The guys will be here shortly.”
“I’ll go with you.” Bridget said.
“Are you sure?”
“Urs, I’m not sick.” She laughed.
“You’re right. Shall we take Liesl with us?” he asked.
Bridget nodded. “Ja. I’m sure her uncles want to say goodbye.”

It was late afternoon when the Divo’s arrived in London. Carlos and David couldn’t wait to get home. They quickly took their luggage and rushed out to catch a cab.
“Let’s get home as well, Chérie.” Seb smiled.
Sophia picked up Christian’s cot. “Yeah. We have some catching up to do.”
Seb grinned. “I’m gonna keep you in bed for a few days.”
“Oh really?”
“Really.” He kissed her nose. “Let’s go!”

“Daddy’s home!” David yelled when he opened the front door.
“Did you hear that? I think Daddy is home.” Lorna chuckled and came into the hallway with Lexie in her arms.
“My beautiful girls.” David took both of them in his arms. “I missed you two.”
“We missed you too.” Lorna said, handing him his daughter.
“Hi sweetheart. Do you remember me? I’m the crazy one who talks to you over the internet.” David stroked her cheek.

Lexie looked at him and grabbed his finger.
“Autsch! Such a strong girl!”
Lorna smiled. He was such an amazing father and she was glad to have him with her again.

David took her hand and together they went to the living room. Lorna had moved into their new place while he was away.
“The house looks nice.” He said, looking around.
“Yeah… And the garden will be so beautiful in the summer. I asked the gardner to get some more rose bushes.” She nodded.
“Great. Did you manage to decorate the bedroom or do you need a hand?” he winked.
Lorna smiled. “Well… It’s time for Lexie to go to bed, so maybe you can have a look yourself.”

Carlos opened the front door. He tiptoed into the living room where Ulva was fast asleep on the couch. He kneeled in front of her and softly stroked her cheek.
“Carlos…” she whispered, opening her eyes.
“I’m home, Querida.”
She put her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. “Finally. I missed you.”
“I missed you too.” He hungrily kissed her.

After a while, Carlos pulled the blanket of the couch and covered their sweating bodies.
“I should go away more often.” He chuckled.
“Don’t you dare!” Ulva said. “Talking about that… I’ve been thinking.”
“Si?”
“Maybe I was too quick to say no when you asked me to marry you.” She bit her bottom lip.
Carlos looked at her. “Are you saying…”
“That I want to marry you. If you still want me.”

For a minute Carlos was quiet. He looked at her and she shifted uncomfortable. But then he grinned and kissed her tenderly. “Of course I do. There is nothing I want more.”
“You scared me for a minute.” She whispered.
“I love you, Ulva. And I will be so proud when I can finally call you my wife.” He jumped up. “I need to buy you a ring!”
“Carlos, the shops are closed!” she laughed.
“You think?”
She nodded. “It’s after 8h.”
“Ok. First thing in the morning. What am I gonna do till then?” he sighed.
Ulva let her eyes wander over his naked body. “Well… I could think of something.”
She giggled when he picked her up and carried her to their room.

Chapter 117: Loving you

“We’re having a son.” Carlos beamed as they walked out of the doctor’s office.
“Yeah… It’s great.” Ulva smiled.
“So, what do you want to do now? Buy an engagement ring?” he winked.
Ulva squeezed his hand. “You should do that. Surprise me.”
“But what if you don’t like it?”
“Oh Carlos… It doesn’t matter what it looks like. What matters is that you gave it to me out of love.” She kissed him softly.
“You’re right, Querida. How about we meet somewhere for dinner?” he suggested.
“I’ll make us something at home.”
“Ok.” Carlos kissed her forehead. “I’ll see you soon.”

The dining room table was set for a romantic dinner. Candles were lit and the lights were dimmed. Carlos smiled as he walked to the kitchen.
Ulva turned around when she heard him come in. “You took your time.”
“Si…” he handed her a bouquet of red roses. “For you, Querida.”
“You shouldn’t have. But thank you. Why don’t you go and sit down? Dinner is almost ready.”
Carlos nodded. “I’ll take the champagne with me.”

They didn’t speak much over dinner. Carlos noticed Ulva was getting nervous and after dessert, he took her hand and pulled her off her chair. “I’ll put you out of your misery now.”
He took the little box from his pocket and opened it. “Ulva Engelbrekt, will you marry me?”

“Yes, Carlos. I’ll marry you.” She smiled.
He slipped the ring on her finger and kissed her. “When do you want to get married?”
“December? And I would love to get married in Norway. With my friends and family around.” She said.
“Ok. I’ll tell Simon to keep that in mind. And I know an excellent wedding planner.” He winked.
“Behave, Mr Marin.”
“Always, soon-to-be Mrs Marin.” He picked her up. “Time for bed. We’ll clean up tomorrow.”

It was the end of May when the guys sat in Simon’s office.
“But Simon… I can’t do that performance. Ulva is having her baby around that time.” Carlos protested.
“It’s one performance of an hour, Carlos.” Simon said. “I’m sure it won’t be a problem. And she can come along and you can leave if something would happen.”
“I guess so…” he mumbled.

“You don’t mind that we bring wives and kids for the summer tour?” David asked.
Simon grinned. “Do I have a choice?”
Four men shook their heads.
“That’s what I thought.” He grinned. “No, I don’t mind. I’ll arrange a nanny so that the ladies can be at a few concerts.”
“An older lady, please.” Urs said.
Simon sighed. “Yeah… After the Nadia disaster…”

“You want to come to dinner?” Seb asked Urs when they stood outside again.
“No, I’m flying back home. Bridget went for her 6 weeks check up today.” He smiled.
David patted his back. “Well… you go and have some fun then.”
“I will. Right, guys… We’ll see each other next month.” Urs said.
“Si… Have a safe trip home, Amigo.” Carlos shook his hand.
“I will. Bye guys!” Urs waved as he got in his cab.

It was late when Urs parked his bike in the garage. He locked everything and smiled when he got to the hallway. Small candles made a path upstairs. He put them out on his way up and sneaked into the nursery to check on Liesl. She was fast asleep, her little hands next to her head. Urs kissed her forehead. “Schläft gut, meine Kleine.”

Bridget smiled at him when he finally made it to their bedroom. “Hi.”
“Hallo Liebling.” He kissed her tenderly.
“How was your trip?”
“Good. How was your appointment?” he asked as he began to undress.
“Isn’t that obvious?” she raised an eyebrow.
“Ja…” He joined her on the bed and pulled her close. His hands caressed the silk nightgown. “You don’t need this.” He pulled it of with one swift move and claimed her mouth.

A while later, they lay closely together, trying to catch their breaths.
“Mein Gott…” Urs mumbled.
“3 months and a half.” Bridget smiled. “I’ve been counting.”
“Me too.” Urs saw her sad smile and noticed she didn’t meet his eyes. He softly raised her chin, forcing her to look at him. “Go on, ask me.”
“No…” she shook her head. “I don’t want…”
“You don’t want to hear that I didn’t cheat on you? That I didn’t even feel the need to do so? You don’t want to hear that you are the only one for me? The woman that has not only captured my heart, but also has my body and soul?” Urs asked softly.

“I know.” She whispered. “It’s just… With al those beautiful women around… And Nadia… And it had been so long… I can’t blame you…” A tear slid down her cheek and Urs tenderly wiped it away.
“Liebling, you are the most beautiful woman for me. The only that matters. And Nadia… I didn’t feel a thing when she came on to me. I didn’t even look at her properly.” He pulled her close. “I love you, Sweetie.”
“I love you too. And I trust you. But sometimes…”
“You need a little reminder.” Urs smiled. He kissed her again and flipped her on her back. They spend the rest of the night making love until they fell asleep, totally exhausted, but very happy.

Chapter 118: Joy

“Mrs Brady… You are having twins.” The doctor smiled, pointing at the screen.
Sophia and Seb looked at the screen and saw the two small forms.
“Mon Dieu… Twins… Really?” Seb stammered.
“Yes.” The doctor nodded.

Tears ran down Sophia’s cheeks. “I can’t believe it.”
“Oh Chérie… That’s great news.” Seb kissed her forehead.
“It is. I’m so happy.” She sobbed.
The doctor smiled at Seb. “Hormones.”
“I know.” He nodded.
“Would you like to know the sex as well?” the doctor asked.

Both of them nodded.
“Well… Both of them are boys.”
“Two boys…” Seb whispered. “That is…”
Sophia sobbed even harder.
“Chérie… We will have a girl in the future.” He stroked her hair.”
“It’s not that. I’m just… happy. And I never expected this… And know you’ll have 2 boys. Your own…” she sniffled.
“You know I see Christian as my own, Chérie.” He reassured her.
She nodded. “I know. I love you, Seb.”
“I love you too. Come on, my darling. Let’s go home and enjoy this news.”

The sun shone above Hyde Park that evening as the guys were getting ready for their performance. They were singing at an open air event where lots of artist would perform. It had become an annual tradition and this year, Il Divo was the main act.

“It’s so great to have our ladies here!” David beamed.
“Oui… And it is such a lovely day.” Seb agreed.
“I hope Ulva will be ok.” Carlos nervously straightened his jacket.
“It’s not her time yet, Carlos. And the girls are with her, so don’t worry.” Urs reassuringly squeezed his shoulder.

Ulva, Lorna and Sophia arrived at the venue and took their places.
“Where is Bridget?” Lorna asked.
Sophia shrugged. ”She said she needed to take care of something, but she’ll be here shortly.”
“Oh ok… You ok, Ulva?”
Ulva nodded. “Yeah… Although I’ll be so happy when this little guy gets born. It would be nice to see my feet again.”
“It’s not much longer…” Sophia smiled. “And it’s worth it. Believe me.”

“Hi ladies.” Bridget greeted them.
“Bridge! You brought Liesl?” Lorna said surprised.
“Yes, I want to surprise her daddy.” She smiled.
The music started and she quickly took her place.
Sophia smiled at her. “He’ll be thrilled.”
“I hope so.” She whispered.

The guys came on and smiled at the response of the audience. They looked at their wives and the smile became even wider. It was such a joy to know that their loved ones were there and supported them through all the craziness.

Urs noticed Bridget and Liesl. She smiled at him and showed their daughter. He couldn’t believe his eyes and lost his cue. The others looked confused at him and when they followed his gaze, they saw what it was that confused him. Liesl was wearing a t-shirt and the message was very clear.

Urs shook his head, smiled, and brought his hand to his heart. He had to take a few deep breaths to get his emotions in control again.
Seb patted his back and winked at him. All through the show, Urs kept smiling. The fans didn’t know what was going on, but they enjoyed seeing him so happy.

The girls were taken backstage after the performance and Urs ran to them. He swept Bridget in his arms. “I love you. I love you so very much.”
“Happy?” she whispered.
He nodded, kissing her tenderly. She tasted his salt tears and held him tight. “I love you too.”
“You make me so happy, Liebling. I don’t know what I would do without you.”

The others stood back and smiled, looking at the happy couple. Urs was always so private and Bridget had changed him in so many ways.
Carlos stroked Ulva’s belly. “Soon, Querida…”
She nodded. “I can’t wait.”

David couldn’t help it. He just had to tease Urs. “Well, Swiss… You didn’t waist any time, did you?”
Urs looked at him, Bridget still in his arms. “No. We want lots of kids.”
“Do we?” she winked.
“Yes, we do.” He laughed and took Liesl out of her cot. “You want lots of brothers and sisters, don’t you Sweetie?”

Seb smiled. “Maybe you’ll have twins as well, seeing you are copying me.”
“Twins? Sophia!” Lorna hugged her. “Congrats, hun.”
“Thanks. We found out this morning.” She smiled happily.

Seb and Urs hugged each other.
“You think Simon will be happy?” Seb asked.
“I don’t care. I am!” Urs grinned.
“Another nanny…”
“And no tour this time; I’m putting my foot down.” Urs winked.

David put his arms around his friends’ shoulders. “Well… All is well in Divo land. How about some champagne guys?”
Both of them shook their heads. “Not for our wives.” Seb said. “They are pregnant.”
“Oi! We can have a drink.” Sophia protested.
“Yes, orange juice.” Urs nodded.
“Champagne. A little one.” Bridget pouted.
Seb and Urs looked at each other and laughed.
“Are they stubborn or what? Ok, one glass!” Seb said as they walked out.

Chapter 119: Names

“I can’t believe the doctor put me on a diet.” Sophia sighed.
Seb smiled. “Well, you gained a lot of weight. I guess…”
“Are you saying I’m fat?” Sophia raised an eyebrow.
“Non, Chérie… I…”
“I am carrying your twins. Twins! They need to eat. Of course I gained weight!” she mumbled and tried to sink down in the couch.

Seb just smiled. He knew her hormones were playing up and that he needed to watch his words. “Anyway… I’ve been thinking about names for our sons. And I really like Durant Gilles and Garner Benoit. Garner means protect and Durant means enduring. What do you think?”

Sophia shook her head. “No way. I refuse to call them like that. Garner Garner. I mean… hello?”
“They’ll have Izambard as their last name.” Seb said.
“Still…”
“Sophia stop being stubborn. Our children are French. You've agreed to stay the last trimester of your pregnancy in Paris so that they could be born in France. Let them have names their schoolmates can pronounce.” Seb said.

“You stop being stubborn, Seb. These children are part American and as such they deserve to have some of me in their names.”
“Sophia, you have Christian, you named him as you chose.” He sighed.
“Yes, but I gave birth to him, just as I will to these two.” she interrupted Seb before he could finish. "You can't deny me this, Seb. I agree they should have French names, but I want to pronounce their names correctly as well."
"Garner was your surname before marriage, honey. You can pronounce it just fine. I like the meaning." Seb said softly, pushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear.
"Durant is also a last name in America, Seb. Just because it means Endure doesn't mean he should have to endure a name like that for all his life." Sophia emphasized her point with a sigh as she stood her ground.

"What names do you suggest? Joseph? Michael? Kevin?" Seb spat out already upset.
"No. You aren't even given me a chance Seb. I like Gilles and Benoit because they are different. I just want to mix in both our cultures. What's so wrong with that?" Sophia asked, her eyes pleading that he would see her side.
"Sophia, it's a part of their heritage. How can I take that away from them?" Seb asked already frustrated and he turned around.
"It's a name, Sebastien. One that they'll have to live with for the rest of their life. If we give them a choice between French and American, they can pick a name that they prefer. We'll be giving them more than if we arbitrarily chose just French. They will speak English as well, Seb."

She was getting upset and when Seb finally turned around he could see that. "What names do you like, honey?" he asked finally after standing in the room for minutes in the stony silence.
"Gabriel, Brayden, Devlin, Chase, Cole, Andrew and Jordan." Sophia said as she pulled out a paper from her pocket.
It listed the names she liked and even had the names she'd heard him suggest in the past few weeks.
"Look Seb... We don't have to decide anything right now. Besides once we hold them we might decide on something totally different, but we don't have to fight about this. Just look these over. I think we can find a combination that we both can agree on." Sophia said as she handed him her list.
He took at it and stared at the names. "When did you become so wise, ma petite?" he asked as he leaned over and kissed her softly.
"When I found you at last, when you took me in your arms." Sophia admitted and then patted his cheek. "Now these two monsters are playing football with my bladder." she joked as she stood up and practically waddled to the restroom.

The Summer Tour kicked off in London. The guys were thrilled to tour the UK again. But Carlos was nervous as hell. Ulva was late. Their baby should have been born a couple of days ago.
“What if she goes in labour when I’m not there?” he paced his dressing room.
“Then you go home immediately.” Seb smiled.
“It takes a while before the baby will be there. Look at me… Bridget was in labour when we were still in Asia. And I got there in time.” Urs said.
“Si, but…”
David patted his back. “Don’t you worry. Everything will be just fine.”

The girls sat on the first row. Ulva grabbed Lorna’s hand and tried to smile.
“You have to tell him.” Lorna said.
“No… I’m not gonna ruin his evening… I’ll be fine.” She breathed. Her back had been hurting for a while now and the contractions were getting worse.

Sophia and Bridget looked at each other.
“I hope she makes it through the concert.” Bridget whispered.
“If Carlos finds out…” Sophia chuckled.
“He’ll be a mess!”

Ulva bravely sat through the concert. She kept squeezing Lorna’s hand.
“I can’t… take it anymore…” and then she let out a scream when her water broke.
David just sang his line and both him and Carlos looked down at Lorna and Ulva. Lorna helped Ulva to get up.
“Querida…” Carlos stammered through his microphone.
“The baby… is coming…”
“Go…” David pushed Carlos off his chair and he ran down the stairs.

Carlos grabbed Ulva’s arm. “Breathe…”
“What does it look like I’m doing?” she hissed.
Sophia and Bridget smiled at Seb and Urs and followed the others.

David cleared his throat. “I’m sorry, ladies and gentlemen, but it looks like Carlos is about to become a daddy.”
The audience cheered and the guys went on with the show. Without Carlos.
