*Chapter 23*

Jodie kept pouring more wine into Urs’ glass and he found it was going straight to his head. He didn’t seem to understand why he was getting drunk and she wasn’t. Then he thought it was because he didn’t drink that much anymore and he just wasn’t used to it. They had talked all the way through their dinner and they were now considering whether or not to have a pudding or to just go back to the hotel and have another drink at the bar there. Jodie leaned over and putting her hand on Urs’ knee under the table whispered something in his ear to which he went red. She laughed and removed her hand and stood up holding out her hand for him to take. He got up and took her hand and after paying for their meal left the restaurant hand in hand. They made their way slowly to the hotel as Urs was finding it hard to walk in a straight line. Jodie slipped her arm round his back and that helped him walk a bit better. They got into the hotel and went to the bar. They sat themselves down at a table or rather fell down in Urs’ case causing them both to burst out laughing. Jodie went to the bar and came back with a bottle of Champagne and two glasses. She said something to him and he nodded and managed to stand up again. She took his arm to steady him and they headed towards the lift. They got out of it and disappeared into her room.


Urs woke up early with a terrible headache. He wondered why Auds had let him drink so much at dinner. He turned over slowly and saw her bare back lying beside him. He ran a hand up her spine and started to place soft kisses all up her back and over her shoulders. She shivered under his touch and he rolled her over to kiss her properly. He suddenly froze as he saw her face. It wasn’t Auds at all, it was Jodie. He didn’t want to move in case she woke up, but he had to get out of there. He slowly pushed the bedclothes off him and discovered he was wearing nothing. He took a look round the room and saw an empty bottle of Champagne, empty bottles from the rooms mini bar and his and her clothes flung all over the room. He moved as quietly as he could and picking up all his clothes went into the bathroom and locked the door. He quickly got dressed then sank to the floor and put his head in his hands wondering what the hell he had just done. What was he going to say to Auds? How could he even face her again after what he had done?

Jodie was lying awake in the bed. She had woken up when he had ran his hand up her spine. She had forced herself to keep her eyes closed until she had heard him going into the bathroom. She smiled to herself, it had gone like clockwork, Auds had been easy to get rid off, she had been worried about David, but he had excused himself. The rest was simple, get Urs as drunk as possible and then get him into her room, wait until he passed out on the bed, strip him and scatter the clothes around the room, do the same with her own then just get into bed with him and wait for him to realise where he was. What happened after that was up to him, he could tell Auds what he’d done and ruin what they had quickly or he could try and keep it quiet and pretend everything was okay and ruin what they had slowly. She shut her eyes quickly as she heard the lock on the bathroom door opening. He walked quietly out of there and making sure she was still sleeping he crept out of her room making sure he wasn’t seen. He couldn’t go back to his room as he would have to knock to get Auds to let him in and he couldn’t go to one of the guys without having to explain why. He suddenly thought of David. How was he going to face him. This was going to ruin everything. He made his way down to the bar and curled up in a corner and sat there trying to figure out what he was going to do. He had just ruined everything he had with Auds for a…he didn’t even know what it was. He felt the tears start to fall, but he let them. He deserved to lose everything, he was a horrible person. He must have fallen asleep as the next thing he felt was being shoved by someone. He opened his eyes and saw Seb and Carlos standing over him. He looked past them and saw Sonia and Michelle as well. He looked up as he heard Seb say “Urs, why are you sleeping down here when you have a perfectly good room and girlfriend upstairs?” Urs tried think of something fast then said “Uhm, well, we kind of had a small disagreement last night and I thought I would give her some space.” Carlos groaned and said “Will you two ever get through a week without falling out over something?” Seb hit him on the arm and said “Don’t be mean.” He handed Urs his room key and said “I would go have a shower and freshen up before you try getting into your own room.” Urs took the key saying “thank you” to Seb and headed for his room. The lift doors opened to reveal David and Jodie inside. His stomach almost turned over at the sight of her and he felt like he was glued to the spot. David and Jodie had come out and she said good morning to him in her normal way before carrying on to get some breakfast. He wondered if she remembered any of last night, obviously no, or she was being a very good actress. David was looking at him worriedly and said “Just what did you two get up to last night? You look terrible man and you stink of alcohol.” Urs lowered his head then said “I think I had too much to drink then fell asleep in the bar, Seb and Carlos just woke me up.” then he walked off taking the stairs as he didn’t want to stand there waiting for the lift to come back in case David asked him something else.

He let himself into Seb’s room and he switched the shower on full blast and turned the heat up. He practically scrubbed himself raw to get the horrible feeling to go away until he stopped and realised that it wasn’t on his skin, it was inside him and no amount of scrubbing was going to get rid of it. He got out and dried himself off then he searched for something clean to borrow of Seb as he couldn’t bear putting his own back on. He took a deep breath and then left the room and headed for his and Auds room.

Urs was standing in front of the door to his and Auds room and was about to knock when it opened and Auds was standing in front of him. She looked at him then said “Urs, where have you been? I’ve been worried about you.” He stared at her, he loved her so much and the thought of losing her was killing him. “Auds, I need to talk to you.” She looked at his face and could tell that it was important. She nodded and walked back into the room. She sat down on the bed and just waited. Urs leaned against the table, he hadn’t a clue where to start. He looked down at the floor then said “You know how much I love you, don’t you baby? And that I would never do anything to hurt you intentionally.” He didn’t look up to see her reaction and carried on. "I um, I uh, I spent last night in Jodie’s room, with her. I don’t remember going to her room, but I woke up to find myself in her bed with neither of us wearing anything.” He looked up then and saw that Auds had tears running down her face. This started him off again and through the tears he said “I am so sorry Auds, you have got to believe me. I don’t remember anything about last night, I don’t know if we even did anything. I got my stuff and got out of there as fast as I could.” Auds got off the bed and started to gather all her things together and put them into the bag she carried with her. She didn’t say a word which worried him. “Baby, please don’t walk away from us, I love you so much and I wish I could turn the clock back and change everything. I have been so stupid and I know that it would take a lot of work, but we can fix this. Please, just don’t leave me.”

Auds picked up her bags and staring at him said “I can’t believe a word you say anymore. We’ve only been together two months and we’ve been through more heartache than some people get in a lifetime together. Well, I’ve had enough, I can’t and won’t cope with anymore.” She looked at him and saw the look of despair on his face and the tears that he wasn’t attempting to stop flowing and said “I love you so much, but its not worth all the heartache for the few days of happiness that we seem to have before it all goes wrong again. Goodbye Urs.” then she walked out of the room. Urs sank onto the bed and just curled up and lay there crying for ages. He had told her the truth, he had confessed all to her and she had still walked out on him. She had left him and he didn’t know how he was going to cope without her. He lay there for hours ignoring his phone which kept ringing and beeping. He also ignored the knocking on the door that happened every so often. Eventually he looked at the time and realised that he was meant to be on stage in an hour. He dragged himself into the shower and then made his way to the arena. When he walked in he was jumped on by the 3 other guys demanding to know what was going on. He stared at David and said “Why don’t you ask your sister? She’s the reason Auds walked out on me this morning.” then walked away from them. He shut himself away until they went on stage. He performed way under his usual standards, but he didn’t seem to have the will to do anything about it.
